Vegas Parade to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The city of Las Vegas will honor Dr. King Monday, January 17 with the 29th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade downtown. This year’s event is expected be the biggest yet according to Wendell Williams, Chair of the nonprofit Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee. More than 150 floats are expected, including marching bands, dancers, and motorcades. The theme is “Living the Dream: Rebuilding American’s Promise, Freedom and Liberty.”

The parade is set to run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The route will start at Fourth Street heading north on Fourth to Ogden. Bleacher seating is generally available right outside of MEET Las Vegas at Fourth and Bridger (Map). Thousands of residents are expected to line the streets to celebrate the legacy of the civil rights hero.
