Philadelphia, PA was host to the 7th Annual Pharmaceutical Meeting Management Forum last week. The biggest discussion of the week was all the limitations on pharmaceutical meetings. Here are some examples for meetings with healthcare practitioners:

• No perceived high-end properties.
• No resorts.
• They can only spend $25 on breakfast, $50 on lunch, and $100 on dinner (all-inclusive).
• The finances needs to be detailed and exact up-front.
• No entertainment.
• Companies can only spend a finite amount for healthcare practitioners to travel.

These are just a few of the restrictions for medical meetings. The next time you have an RFP from a Pharmaceutical company, make sure you ask all the right questions and read up as much as possible before quoting them.
