Is this the end of Event Apps?

In the last year overall app downloads have fallen by 20%, and many event planners have stated they are struggling with usage and engagement levels with their mobile downloads for events. At first it was cool to have an app specifically for an event, but now attendees no longer see the value.
The question for event planners to answer now is ‘how do we add value to our already established app?'. EventMB compiled a list of five steps event planners need to take to get ahead of the game.

  • Allow your event content to be accessed and seen in an easy way.
  • Add in Q&A polls and feedback tools for the audience to engage with in real time.
  • Personalization within the app is key since all attendees are different.
  • Ensure networking is built-in to the app through social media or games.
  • Since you invest so much in the app, make sure that it generates some income for you through sponsor ads.
